Although Kumamoto's summer heat was intense, the "Association for the Future of the Toro Festival," a cultural organization in Yamaga, carefully placed approximately 30 lanterns inside the newly renovated Toro-den.

Compared with its appearance before the renovation, the interior of the Toro-den now has a solemn and atmospheric presence that evokes the magical feeling of the festival night. We hope you enjoy its newly transformed interior.

The lanterns arranged today will be moved once again in August, when the "new lanterns" created for this year's festival will be displayed late at night on August 16.

After approximately 60 years, this long-awaited renovation has brought new value to the Toro-den. It is deeply moving to think that this renewed space will soon be seen and appreciated by so many people.
